I am a quick reader and it took me a while to finish this book because I just couldn't get into it. I love Savannah, and I could imagine the squares and cemeteries as described in the book, and I really, really wanted to love this story. There were definitely a list of entertaining characters throughout, but I would sometimes forget who they were and how they fit into the story. I know this book was very popular in the mid-late '90s, but for me it was just okay. P.S. I never saw the movie.
